Paddle into the heart of the forest
Mangrove Kayaking
Overview
Leave the motor behind and slip silently into the ancient mangrove tunnels of Jiquilisco Bay by kayak. This intimate tour takes you into channels too narrow for any boat — a world of arching roots, dappled light, and extraordinary biodiversity. Common Questions
Do I need kayaking experience?
No prior experience is needed. Your guide provides a brief paddling lesson before departure. The inner channels are calm and sheltered — ideal for beginners.
What if I capsize?
The channels are shallow and calm. Life jackets are mandatory. Your guide is trained in water safety and will assist immediately. Capsizes are rare but nothing to worry about.
Is it physically demanding?
The tour involves 2–3 hours of paddling at a relaxed pace with regular stops. Most people of average fitness find it comfortable. If you have shoulder or back concerns, let us know.
Why the early morning departure?
